Exploring the historic site of Sardis in Salihli reveals a rich heritage, as it was governed by King Croesus around 500 BC and was among the earliest locations where coins were minted. Although earthquakes have caused damage, visitors can still admire the ruins of the Temple of Artemis, a renovated gymnasium, and a synagogue adorned with intricate mosaics and finely crafted colored-stone panels dating back to the 3rd century.


The remains of ancient Philadelphia, known as one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, consist of only a few fragments of a Byzantine church, yet it remains a meaningful destination for history enthusiasts.
