Daily Perge Aspendos Side Tour with lunch

We will depart from your hotel around 08:00 am and begin our journey with a visit to Perge Ancient City. This ancient site offers a clear insight into the layout of a Greek and Roman city and dates back to the 4th century BC. It was once visited by Greek colonists after the Trojan War, by St. Paul and his companions when the city was a major hub in Pamphylia, later falling under the rule of Alexander the Great and the Byzantines. Perge has been a significant Christian pilgrimage site for centuries, as it was here that Saint Paul preached his first sermon after arriving from Antioch in 46 AD.

During our visit, we will explore The Roman Baths, the Agora, Colonaded Street, the Nympharium, and the stadium. The archaeological site of Perge, which was included on the UNESCO Tentative List in 2009, represents one of Turkey's most remarkable cultural treasures.

Our next destination will be the Aspendos Theatre. Aspendos is known for being one of the best-preserved Roman theatres. This ancient theatre, dating back to the 2nd century A.D., boasts a seating capacity of 15,000 and continues to host festivals and musical performances to this day. The Theatre and Aqueducts of Aspendos were included on the UNESCO Tentative List in 2015.

After lunch, we will proceed to visit the Side Ancient City, once the largest port of ancient Pamphylia. St. Paul, coming from Cyprus, would have arrived at this ancient port on his way to Perge. Side is one of Turkey's most significant ancient cities, having served as a major slave market during Roman times. It saw substantial development, including the construction of a grand theatre and Roman Baths. The Temple of Apollo was also built during the Roman era.

Our final stop will be the Kursunlu Waterfalls, where you can relax and unwind after a hot day in Antalya. We will then drive you back to your hotel around 5:00 pm.
