Itinerary Details

Pamukkale stands out for its extraordinary natural features, such as the warm, mineral-rich waters that flow through its springs and pools. This is also the site where Hierapolis was established, a remarkable example of a Graeco-Roman thermal complex. The Christian monuments here are prime examples of early Christian architectural structures.

Known as the "cotton castle" in Turkish, Pamukkale is an awe-inspiring destination named for the mineral deposits left behind by the hot springs. The site is home to mineral forests, petrified waterfalls, and terraced pools resembling a natural nymphaeum, all formed by the abundant minerals in this ancient location. It's no surprise that Pamukkale is one of Turkey's most beloved tourist spots.

The hot springs were believed by the ancient Greeks to have the power to heal and reshape the landscape. As a result, a thermal station was constructed at the site during Roman times. This historic site is known as the Hierapolis Ancient City, one of Turkey’s most captivating archaeological locations.

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up from your hotel in Selcuk or Kusadasi around 08:00 am and drive you to the Hierapolis Ancient City, a journey that will take approximately 2.5 hours. Once there, we will visit the largest necropolis (cemetery) in Turkey, the Domitian and Byzantium Gates, the Main Street, and the impressive theater with a seating capacity of 20,000. After exploring the theater, you'll have some free time to swim in Cleopatra Pool if you wish. Please note that an additional 10 Euro entrance fee is required for access to the pool. After concluding our walk through the ruins of the Hierapolis Ancient City, we will head to the Travertine terraces.

The travertine pools are fascinating natural formations created by thermal springs rich in calcium bicarbonate, chalk, and limestone. The travertines cascade down the hills, forming structures that closely resemble a frozen waterfall. The tour will conclude around 4:00 pm, after which we will drive you back to your hotel in Selcuk or Kusadasi. If you prefer, you also have the option to stay overnight in Pamukkale.

The cost of this tour is 120 Euro per person. Feel free to email us for more details and to make your booking. We will respond to your inquiry within 24 hours.
