Private Tour
The tours we offer are designed for those who prefer a relaxed pace, comprehensive insights from knowledgeable guides, local meals in small boutique restaurants (we avoid large bus group venues with open-buffet lunches), and a small group experience. If you prefer tours that visit many sites quickly, these may not align with your expectations.
Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia at 08:30 AM. We will start our trip by driving to one of the most significant historical landmarks along the ancient Silk Road: the Sultanhani Caravanserai. This caravanserai is among the largest caravanserais on the Silk Road and dates back to the 13th century. Historically, it served as a resting place for traders and travelers, offering them shelter, meals, and protection. Upon arrival, our guide will share intriguing details about the Silk Road, its historical importance, and the crucial role these caravanserais played in enabling trade and cultural interaction between East and West.
Following our visit to Sultanhani, we will proceed with a 1.5-hour drive to Konya, where the renowned Mevlana Museum is located—a key destination for those fascinated by spiritual and cultural heritage. The Mausoleum of Rumi (called Mevlana Müzesi in Turkish) is one of Turkey’s most honored pilgrimage spots and a must-see site in Konya. It houses the tomb of the celebrated mystic, Sufi thinker, and poet Rumi, whose messages of love and compassion continue to influence people worldwide. Known in Turkish as Mevlana, his full name is Mawlana Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Balkhi-Rumi.
The museum also features a nearby exhibition showcasing artifacts from Rumi’s lifetime and the 13th century. While touring, you will see ancient manuscripts, including handwritten copies of the Koran, musical instruments used during Rumi’s era, and various artifacts from the Seljuk period. These displays create a meaningful link to Rumi’s time and offer greater understanding of the Sufi heritage. After soaking in the museum’s rich spiritual ambiance, you will enjoy lunch at a local eatery, where authentic Turkish dishes await you.
Our last destination of the day is the Ince Minareli Medrese, an exquisite example of Islamic architecture in Turkey. This theological school, dating back to the 13th century, is renowned for its remarkable portal gate, considered among the finest examples of Islamic architectural art in the country. The detailed craftsmanship and historical significance of the structure make this a memorable visit. Originally an educational center for religious scholars, the medrese now operates as a museum that highlights the artistic and scholarly achievements of the Seljuk era.
Following your visit to the Ince Minareli Medrese, the tour will conclude around 17:00 – 17:30, and we will escort you back to your hotel, giving you time to reflect on the incredible cultural and spiritual heritage experienced during the day.
