Itinerary Details

The ancient city of Ephesus, situated near the Aegean Sea, was once among the largest Greek cities in Anatolia and the location of the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The ruins of Ephesus remain a significant tourist destination and a holy site in Christianity, linked to prominent biblical figures such as St. Paul, St. John the Evangelist, and the Virgin Mary. Additionally, Ephesus is one of the seven churches mentioned in Revelation. During the Roman era, Ephesus had a population exceeding 250,000 in the 1st century BC, making it one of the largest cities in the Mediterranean world.

Ephesus has always been a “center” during its date. It was once a trade center in the ancient world , a religious center in the early Christianity and today, a unique tourism center welcoming its guests from all over the world.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Selcuk or Kusadasi around 09:00 am and head towards the House of the Virgin Mary. This sacred site was discovered by Sister Anne Catherine Emmerich, a German nun, in 1812. Sister Emmerich experienced vivid visions and, in her sleep, traveled to Jerusalem where she saw St. John and the Virgin Mary journeying from Jerusalem to Ephesus. She recalled seeing a rectangular-shaped stone house built by St. John for the Virgin Mary.

After visiting this revered pilgrimage site, we will take a short 10-minute drive to the Ephesus Ancient City, one of the largest archaeological sites in the world. We will explore the Odeon, the Fountain of Trajan, the baths of Scholastica, and the Temples of Hadrian and Domitian, along with the magnificent Library of Celsus. Following this, we will visit the Grand Theatre, where Saint Paul preached. The theatre, which was the largest of its kind in ancient times, had a seating capacity of 24,000. Our walk through the ruins of Ephesus will last approximately 2 hours, after which we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

After lunch, we will visit The Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Our final stop will be Sirince Village, just a 15-minute drive away. The village remained a Greek Orthodox Village until the population exchange between the Republic of Turkey and Greece in 1924. During this exchange, Greeks living in Turkey were swapped with Turks living in Greece. The tour will conclude around 4:30 pm, after which we will drive you back to your hotel.

The price for this tour is 120 Euros per person. Please send us an email for more information or contact us via our WhatsApp number, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
