Private Tour
The tours we offer are designed for those who prefer a relaxed pace, comprehensive insights from knowledgeable guides, local meals in small boutique restaurants (we avoid large bus group venues with open-buffet lunches), and a small group experience. If you prefer tours that visit many sites quickly, these may not align with your expectations.
Day 1: Flight to Gaziantep (Visit Zeugma Mosaic Museum & Gaziantep Center, lunch and dinner included) Starting with an early pick-up from your hotel in Istanbul, we will transfer you to Istanbul Airport for your flight to Gaziantep Airport. Upon arrival, our guide and driver will be waiting for you at the exit, holding a sign with your name to ensure a smooth and effortless continuation of your journey. A short drive from the airport brings us to the Zeugma Mosaic Museum. Renowned for containing Turkey's finest preserved mosaics, the Zeugma Mosaic Museum displays treasures from the ancient city of Zeugma, which has been on the UNESCO Tentative List since 2021. These mosaics, dating back 2000 years, amaze visitors with their exceptional designs, vivid colors, and detailed craftsmanship. Covering an area of 1450 m², the museum also features 140 m² of frescoes, 4 Roman fountains, 20 columns, 4 limestone statues, a bronze figure of Mars, along with grave steles and sarcophagi. We will then enjoy lunch at the famous 'Kebapçı Halil Usta Restaurant.' Gaziantep is famed for its rich culinary traditions, especially its kebabs, and this restaurant has been awarded multiple times as Turkey’s top kebab venue. Our program also includes a stroll through the historic streets of Gaziantep, visiting the copper market and a well-known baklava shop, since Gaziantep is considered the birthplace of baklava. Dinner will be served at another exceptional establishment, the 'İmam Çağdaş Restaurant.' This restaurant has been operating in the same location for over 100 years, offering truly authentic cuisine. After dinner, we will visit the Tahmis Coffee House, the oldest coffeehouse in Turkey, dating back to 1635, where we will sample the famous pistachio coffee. After a full day of discovery, we will spend the night in Gaziantep. Day 2 ( Visit Sanliurfa Museum & Harran, breakfast, lunch and dinner included) After breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to Şanlıurfa. Our first destination is the impressive Şanlıurfa Archaeology and Mosaic Museum, which houses an extensive collection of about 10,000 artifacts, exceeding typical Turkish museum standards. Among its remarkable exhibits are the world’s oldest statue, a replica of the Göbeklitepe D Temple, the original Nevali Çori Temple, and numerous period animations. Nearby, the Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum displays some of the world’s most stunning mosaics. After this fascinating visit, we will drive around 30 minutes to Cevahirhan Restaurant. This 700-year-old historical caravanserai has been carefully restored and is now celebrated as the best dining spot in Şanlıurfa. After lunch, our tour continues in the heart of Şanlıurfa, a city deeply rooted in history as the home of Old Testament prophets such as Jethro, Job, Elijah, and Abraham. Known as the "City of Prophets," Şanlıurfa is also famous as the place where Prophet Moses tended sheep for seven years before returning to Egypt. One of the highlights of our visit is the sacred Pool of Prophet Abraham, linked to the legend that Abraham, who refused to worship Nimrod's gods, survived being thrown into a blazing fire. Miraculously, the flames turned into water, and the burning wood transformed into the carps that now swim in the pool. As we wander the streets, the city's unique charm reveals itself through a rich mosaic of cultures and ethnic communities. Next, we will take a one-hour drive to Harran, the historic city where Prophet Abraham once lived. Despite being situated in an arid, desolate plain, Harran has a remarkable history spanning 5,000 years. It prospered as an important trade route connecting Anatolia and Mesopotamia, preserving its distinctive heritage. The city is famous for its unique adobe bee-hive shaped houses, an ancient castle, and an 8th-century university building. Harran has been listed on the UNESCO Tentative List since 2000. After some rest at the hotel, we will head out for dinner. Our meal will be at one of Sanliurfa’s finest eateries, Culcuoğlu Restaurant. This well-known restaurant is famous for its kebabs and baklava. Following dinner, we will return to the hotel for the night. Day 3 (Visit Gobeklitepe & Karahantepe, sunset in Mount Nemrut, breakfast, lunch & dinner included) After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a 30-minute drive to visit Göbeklitepe, a prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Site in Turkey. Göbeklitepe is recognized as the earliest example of monumental human architecture. Scientifically dated, this site is acclaimed as the world’s oldest known temple, dating back an extraordinary 11,500 years. The area is dotted with numerous limestone pillars, richly decorated with stylized T-shaped motifs, which have led archaeoastronomers to theorize about their possible use in astronomical alignments. Our next destination will be the recently discovered, still-under-excavation site of Karahantepe. Karahantepe is an important Pre-Pottery Neolithic site located in the Taş Tepeler region of Southeast Turkey, within Şanlıurfa province. The name "Taş Tepeler" means stone hills, aptly describing an area rich with archaeological sites featuring T-shaped anthropomorphic pillars similar to those at Göbeklitepe. What makes Karahantepe particularly fascinating is its connection to the same cultural tradition as Göbeklitepe, though it reveals some distinct differences. While Göbeklitepe’s carvings are noted for their formal style, realism, and detailed craftsmanship, Karahantepe’s imagery is more dynamic and less refined, though it remains deeply ritualistic. After enjoying lunch in Sanliurfa, our adventure continues with a 1.5-hour drive to Adiyaman. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel to relax and get ready for the climb to Mount Nemrut. Later, we will take a scenic 2-hour drive to reach the summit of Mount Nemrut, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. At the entrance of the national park, we will embark on a 20-minute hike to the peak. From the summit, an awe-inspiring view awaits, showcasing one of the world’s most stunning sunsets, framed by the statues of ancient gods and kings. After witnessing this magnificent scene, we will descend and return to our hotel in Adiyaman for a delicious dinner. We will then spend the night in Adiyaman. Day 4 (Flight back to Istanbul, breakfast included) After enjoying a satisfying breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed to Adiyaman Airport for your flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival in Istanbul, a dedicated driver will be waiting for you at the airport, ready to welcome you and provide a direct transfer to your hotel in the city.
