Private Tour
The tours we offer are designed for those who prefer a relaxed pace, comprehensive insights from knowledgeable guides, local meals in small boutique restaurants (we avoid large bus group venues with open-buffet lunches), and a small group experience. If you prefer tours that visit many sites quickly, these may not align with your expectations.
Day 1: Cappadocia to Gaziantep (Visit Zeugma Mosaic Museum & Gaziantep Center, lunch and dinner included) Starting at 08:00 am, our adventure begins with a meeting at your hotel in Cappadocia. We will embark on a 3.5-hour drive to our first stop in Kahramanmaras, famous for its world-renowned goat milk ice-cream. From there, we continue with a one-hour drive to Gaziantep, where a delightful lunch is prepared for us. Our meal will be enjoyed at the famous 'Kebapçı Halil Usta Restaurant.' Gaziantep is well-known for its rich culinary heritage, especially its kebabs, and this establishment has been honored multiple times as Turkey’s top kebab restaurant. Post-lunch, we will visit the Zeugma Mosaic Museum, celebrated for preserving the finest mosaics in Turkey. This museum exhibits treasures from the Zeugma Ancient City, a UNESCO Tentative List site since 2021. These mosaics, dating back 2000 years, mesmerize visitors with their unique patterns, vibrant hues, and exquisite artistry. Covering an area of 1450 m², the museum also features 140 m² of frescoes, 4 Roman fountains, 20 columns, 4 limestone sculptures, a bronze statue of Mars, along with grave steles and sarcophagi. Our itinerary also includes strolling through the historic streets of Gaziantep, exploring the copper market, and stopping by a famous baklava shop, since Gaziantep is recognized as the birthplace of Baklava. Dinner will be served at another exceptional venue, the 'Imam Cagdas Restaurant,' which has been serving authentic dishes in the same location for over 100 years. After dinner, we will visit the Tahmis Coffee House, the oldest coffee house in Turkey dating back to 1635, to sample their famous pistachio coffee. Following this enriching day, we will spend the night in Gaziantep. Day 2 ( Visit Sanliurfa Museum & Harran, breakfast, lunch and dinner included) After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, our journey proceeds with a picturesque 2-hour drive to Şanlıurfa. Our first destination is the impressive Şanlıurfa Archaeology and Mosaic Museum, which houses an extensive collection of around 10,000 artifacts—a figure that exceeds typical Turkish museum standards. Among the remarkable exhibits are the world’s oldest statue, a replica of the Göbeklitepe D Temple, the original Nevali Çori Temple, along with numerous periodical animations. Visitors will also have the chance to admire some of the most visually stunning mosaics in the world at the adjacent Haleplibahçe Mosaic Museum. After this extraordinary visit, we will travel roughly 30 minutes to Cevahirhan Restaurant, a 700-year-old historic caravanserai that has been carefully restored and is now celebrated as the best dining spot in Şanlıurfa. Following lunch, our discovery of Şanlıurfa continues in the heart of the city, rich with history as the home to several Old Testament prophets, including Jethro, Job, Elijah, and Abraham. This heritage has earned the city the nickname "The City of Prophets," where even Prophet Moses spent seven years tending sheep before returning to Egypt. One of the highlights of our tour is the sacred Pool of Prophet Abraham, linked to the story that Abraham, who refused to accept Nimrod’s religion, was thrown into a fire but miraculously survived. The flames turned into water, and the burning wood transformed into the carps that now swim in the pool. As we wander the streets, the city’s beauty reveals itself through the peaceful coexistence of various cultures and ethnicities. Next, we will take a one-hour drive to Harran, where Prophet Abraham is said to have lived. Located in a dry and arid plain, Harran has a history stretching back 5,000 years. Positioned on a crucial trade route between Anatolia and Mesopotamia, the city flourished and preserved its distinctive cultural heritage. Harran is famous for its unique adobe beehive-shaped houses, an ancient castle, and an 8th-century university building. Since 2000, Harran has been included on the UNESCO Tentative List. After some rest at the hotel, we will head out for dinner. Dinner will be at one of Şanlıurfa’s finest establishments, the Culcuoğlu Restaurant, renowned for its kebabs and baklava. Following the meal, we will return to the hotel to conclude the day. Day 3 (Visit Gobeklitepe & Karahantepe, sunset in Mount Nemrut, breakfast, lunch & dinner included) After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will embark on a 30-minute drive to visit Göbeklitepe, a prestigious UNESCO World Heritage Site in Turkey. Göbeklitepe is recognized as the earliest monumental architectural site created by humans. Scientifically confirmed, it holds the remarkable distinction of being the world’s oldest temple, dating back approximately 11,500 years. The site features numerous limestone pillars decorated with stylized T-shaped carvings, which have led archaeoastronomers to theorize about their possible role in ancient astronomical observations. Following this, we will proceed to the recently discovered and still under excavation site, Karahantepe. The Karahantepe site is an important Pre-Pottery Neolithic settlement located in the Taş Tepeler region of Southeast Turkey, within Şanlıurfa province. The name "Taş Tepeler" translates to "stone hills," perfectly describing this area which is rich in archaeological sites featuring T-shaped anthropomorphic pillars similar to those found at Göbeklitepe. What makes Karahantepe particularly fascinating is its connection to the same cultural tradition as Göbeklitepe, yet with distinctive differences. While the carvings at Göbeklitepe are noted for their greater realism, formality, and detailed craftsmanship, the figures at Karahantepe, although still ritualistic, appear less refined and exhibit a more expressive and dynamic style. After enjoying lunch in Şanlıurfa, our trip proceeds with a 1.5-hour drive to Adıyaman. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel to rest and get ready for the excursion to Mount Nemrut. Then, we will take a scenic 2-hour drive to reach the summit of Mount Nemrut, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. At the entrance of the national park, we will embark on a 20-minute hike to the summit. Once at the peak, visitors are rewarded with a stunning view that includes one of the world’s most mesmerizing sunsets, framed by the monumental statues of gods and kings. After witnessing this unforgettable sunset and the impressive statues, we will descend to our hotel for dinner. We will spend the night in Adıyaman. Day 4 (Drive back to Cappadocia or Flight back to Istanbul, breakfast included) On the following day, you may choose to take a picturesque drive returning to Cappadocia or select a convenient flight back to Istanbul. Whether you prefer to enjoy the scenic views along the road or opt for the faster option by air, both choices guarantee a memorable conclusion to your journey, highlighting the rich cultural and historical heritage of your Turkish experience.
