Lake Çıldır is a freshwater body situated in the northeastern part of Turkey, near the borders with Georgia and Armenia. Visitors can take advantage of facilities such as a restaurant, several short walking paths, and other conveniences designed for a pleasant experience.

With a maximum depth of 42 meters, Lake Çıldır serves as a natural boundary between Turkey and Armenia. Its sole outlet is a stream named Telek Stream, which is supplied by various smaller streams and springs, ultimately flowing into Arpaçay at the Armenian border.

The lake contains several islands, the largest being Akcakale, situated near ancient ruins. The surrounding region is predominantly used for livestock grazing, as vegetation is sparse.

Fishing plays a vital role in the local economy, with a diverse range of fish species available all year, including carp (Cyprinus carpio), which are traditionally caught by cutting through the ice in winter. The northwest part of the lake mainly consists of marshlands and wetlands divided by a natural embankment, and agriculture is limited due to challenging environmental conditions.
