Inalti Cave

Inalti Cave

The Inalti Cave is located at an altitude of 1070 meters above sea level, within Inaltı Village and approximately 40 kilometers from the Ayancık District. Visitors can reach the cave either by vehicle or by climbing the narrow steps that lead to a spacious entrance with broad ledges. The cave’s walls are richly decorated with dripstones, making it a popular attraction. Nearly half of the cave’s total length, which is around 658 meters, is accessible to tourists.

A 300-meter section of the Inalti Cave has been equipped with lighting for tourists, while it has been found that only 125 meters of the remaining 358 meters are accessible to visitors. The cave extends in an east-west orientation and includes an entrance hall that leads to a well-formed gallery measuring 125 meters in length, 10-12 meters in width, with a ceiling height of 15 meters. This gallery is the driest and most spacious area of the cave, showcasing stalactites, stalagmites, columns, cover and parasol dripstones, along with dripstone pools. The Inalti Cave developed horizontally within the Malt-Alt Kereatse aged stubborn formation, which lies atop the Dogger granite foundation, creating a karst floor level.

The mysterious and captivating ambiance of the Inalti Cave and its remarkable limestone formations continually amaze visitors. Inside, guests can follow a designated tour path, and outside the cave entrance, a cozy coffee shop warmly welcomes all.
