İğneada Floodplain Forests National Park

The İğneada Floodplain Forests National Park, also known as the İğneada Longoz Forests National Park, is a protected natural site located in the Kırklareli Province within Turkey’s Marmara Region. Officially declared a national park on November 13, 2007, the area covers approximately 3,155 acres or 7,800 hectares. It lies in the town of İğneada, positioned near the Turkish-Bulgarian border.

The forest ecosystem is nourished by watercourses that descend from the Strandja Mountains and flow into the Black Sea. These waters shape the alluvial coastal plain, creating an environment rich in seasonal floodplains, making the area an essential and vibrant floodplain forest.
