Akkaya Travertines

Akkaya Travertines

The Akkaya Travertines, located about 10 kilometers southwest of Bolu along the Mudurnu route, are often called the "Pamukkale of Bolu" thanks to their stunning natural beauty and picturesque views.

Akkaya Travertines

The Akkaya Travertines represent one of the few pristine natural areas still preserved in both Bolu and the Western Black Sea Region. The local water, enriched with calcium, maintains a temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius. As the water cascades over the tiered formations, it releases carbon dioxide, causing lime to evaporate and resulting in the creation of limestone layers.

The main attraction of this park is its mineral-rich travertine pools, known for their subtle flavor. Guests can enjoy a swim in the natural stone pool or refresh themselves by drinking from the crystal-clear fountain.
