Abant Lake Natural Park, located in Bolu Province, lies approximately 65 kilometers from the city center. The journey to the park offers a scenic drive through charming villages, serene lakes, lush orchards, and rolling hills. Traveling by car from Bolu city center typically takes around two hours.

Abant Lake, formed by a tectonic process, is home to a diverse range of plant life and offers great opportunities for outdoor activities. Due to its distinctive features, an area of 1150 hectares surrounding the lake was officially declared a Natural Park in 1988.

The park is rich in vegetation and features a wide variety of plant species, including Scotch pine, beech, larch, oak, poplar, ash, hornbeam, willow, juniper, forest rose, tamarisk, hazelnut, medlar, priest hat, azarole, holly, dog rose, bracken, blackberry, strawberry, mint, raspberry, ivy, nettle, mare's tail, as well as numerous types of grasses and native trees.

The park hosts a variety of important wildlife species such as wild boars, deer, roe deer, bears, foxes, jackals, rabbits, and various birds of prey. The lake is also home to the endemic species Abantalası, which adds to the rich and distinctive faunal diversity of the region.
