The Tomb and Complex of Melike Mama Hatun Located in Tercan Village, about 20 km away from Erzincan, the Tomb and Complex of Melike Mama Hatun stands as a significant architectural relic from the Saltukid dynasty of the 13th century. The inscription on the portal credits the building to a skilled master from Ahlat, Abu’n-Nema son of Mufaddal al-Ahwal, though the precise date of its construction is not documented. The complex includes an impressive tomb, a caravanserai, and a bathhouse situated at the town center, all surrounded by a circular wall showcasing unique architectural details. The exterior of the main entrance is decorated with Arabic calligraphy, while the interior features muqarnas capitals inscribed with Quranic verses in kufic script alongside symbols representing Prophet Muhammad and the four caliphs. The craftsman's name is engraved at the bottom center of the doorway. The tomb rises two stories high on a square base with rounded corners, placed on an elevated platform, and topped with an eight-lobed roof. Access to both floors is through entrances on the southern side, with a few steps leading to the upper floor and an arched doorway that holds an empty plaque. The tomb is adorned with geometric patterns, vegetal designs, and detailed kufic calligraphy. A notable decoration above the left window niche depicts a bunch of grapes, drawing particular attention.
