Itinerary Details

The Private Highlights of Cappadocia Tour, including lunch, begins at 09:30 AM from your hotel in Goreme. For guests staying in other towns, pick-up will be arranged slightly earlier, and we’ll confirm the exact time during your booking process. The tour kicks off with a visit to the region’s most iconic site: the Goreme Open-Air Museum. This impressive area was once a large monastic settlement and features nine ancient churches that date back over a thousand years. It has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. During your time here, our expert guide will share detailed insights into both the museum and the broader historical background of the area.

After spending around 1.5 hours at the museum, we’ll head to Cavusin Village, a fascinating location that was once home to both Greek and Turkish communities. This dual heritage continued until the mandatory population exchange of 1924. Your guide will explain the causes and consequences of this historical migration, along with the shared traditions and lifestyle elements of both cultures that once coexisted in this unique village.

Next, we will head to the stunning Pasabag Fairy Chimneys, where you can witness the most well-preserved fairy chimneys in all of Cappadocia. This remarkable area is also known as "Monks Valley" due to the presence of multi-capped rock formations. Our guide will explain how these natural wonders were formed over thousands of years, along with the geological evolution of the entire region. After exploring Pasabag, we will make our way to Avanos for a delightful lunch at a cozy boutique restaurant.

Following lunch, you'll enjoy a fascinating kick-wheel pottery demonstration in Avanos, where this ancient Hittite tradition has been practiced for nearly 4,000 years. Afterwards, we will take a scenic 30-minute drive to the impressive Kaymakli Underground City, one of Cappadocia’s deepest and most intricate underground settlements. Inside, you’ll explore storage rooms, chapels, living quarters, and wineries, all carved into the earth.

Our final destination will be Pigeon Valley, where you'll enjoy a panoramic view of the valley and the iconic Uchisar Castle in the distance. After taking in the scenery and capturing some memorable photos, we will return you to your hotel around 5:00 PM.
