Konya Vişne Tiridi is a traditional dessert from the region, made by drizzling sour cherry syrup over bread slices that have been fried in butter or clarified butter. This dessert holds a special place in Konya’s culinary heritage and has a long-established history. As a result, Konya Vişne Tiridi is strongly connected to its geographical roots.

Konya Sour Cherry Tiridi

Production Method:

Ingredients for 4 servings of Konya Vişne Tiridi:
6 bread slices, 200 g butter or clarified butter, 1 kg sour cherries, 250 ml water, 500 g granulated sugar

Preparation:
1. Melt the butter or clarified butter in a pan and fry the bread slices until they are golden brown on both sides. Arrange the fried bread slices in a deep dish.
2. Pit the sour cherries and cook them with the sugar and water. Once the mixture comes to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for 2 more minutes before taking it off the stove.
3. Pour the warm sour cherry syrup over the fried bread slices. Let the dessert cool down, and serve it optionally with a side of clotted cream.
