While there are various types of travel insurance available, we suggest obtaining medical coverage and trip cancellation insurance. If you already have health insurance in your home country, it might extend to international travel—but we highly recommend verifying that it includes coverage in Turkey. Trip cancellation policies typically offer protection for travel delays, interruptions, emergency medical treatment abroad, missed flights, or other unexpected issues during your journey. Please note that we do not sell travel insurance and are not connected to any insurance providers, but many of our guests have found it beneficial to be insured under such circumstances.

Turkish roads and highways are usually well-maintained, though some mountainous and coastal routes can be narrow and curvy. Honestly, Turkish drivers can sometimes seem a bit unpredictable. Below are some common traffic rules and driving habits in Turkey: Vehicles drive on the right side, and those coming from the right-hand side generally have the right of way. Wearing a seat belt is mandatory. You must not drive under the influencetaxis are affordable and a safer option. Police frequently perform breathalyzer checks and may issue instant fines if necessary. Please exercise caution when driving at night, as you may come across poorly lit vehicles, slow-moving farm equipment, or even animals on rural roads.

There can be mosquitoes in some certain areas especially in the coastal regions. We recommend having some form of repellant, especially for those people who are prone to bites. Ants are frequent in some rural areas.

The official currency used in Turkey is the Turkish Lira (TL – Türk Lirası or TRY as recognized in the global financial system). It is divided into smaller units called Kurus (100 Kurus = 1 TL). The Turkish Lira is internationally available and can usually be purchased in your home country before traveling—though you may need to place a special order ahead of time. Once you arrive in Turkey, exchanging money is straightforward at banks, currency exchange offices, post offices (PTT), and hotels. For better rates, we suggest using exchange offices or post offices since they typically provide commission-free rates. You can also access Turkish Lira directly from ATMs using your debit, credit, or cash cards. Keep in mind that American Express cards are accepted only at Garanti Bank ATMs. If you happen to run low on Turkish Lira during your stay, many tourist-focused shops, hotels, and restaurants will accept major foreign currencies, although the exchange rate offered might be less favorable.

You can use your mobile phone in Turkey if you have enabled international roaming with your GSM service provider. There are three major GSM networks in Turkey: Turkcell, Turk Telekom, and Vodafone. These operators all have international roaming agreements in place, but we recommend that you check the rates with your home provider before using roaming services. If you plan to make a large number of calls during your visit, it may be more cost-effective to purchase a local prepaid SIM card. These are available at airports and most mobile phone retailers. You will also need to add credit (Kontör Kart) to your line, which can be easily refilled at kiosks, corner shops, or supermarkets—offering you a noticeable saving in the long run. Mobile network coverage is generally excellent throughout Turkey, though there may be limited service in certain rural or mountainous regions. Please note that even when calling a local Turkish number from a Turkish SIM, you still need to use the full international dialing format. This means starting with 00 90, followed by the 10-digit number (omitting the first zero). For instance, you can reach us at 0090 542 679 9993.

Turkey uses a 220-volt, 50 Hz electrical system, and the outlets are designed for round-pin European-style plugs that fit into recessed sockets. If your devices or appliances use a different plug type, you will need a power adapter. It's a smart idea to bring a compatible adapter with you, as they might not be easily available once you're here. Some hotels may offer North American-style sockets (120 volts, 60 Hz) that accept flat-prong plugs, but this is not guaranteed. Many electronic devices such as laptops, phones, and cameras come with built-in adapters that support dual voltage (110–120V and 220–240V) and can automatically adjust to the local voltage. To confirm, please check the label on your charger or power adapter for the input range—it should say something like “INPUT: A.C. 100–240V”. If so, you can safely use your device in Turkey with the correct plug adapter. Below is an example of what Turkish power plugs typically look like:

It’s a good idea to pack your holiday necessities such as sunscreen, after-sun care products, and insect or mosquito repellents before you travel. Bringing these from home can save you time and help ensure you have the brands you trust. Please note, if you are flying, you should avoid placing these liquids in your carry-on luggage due to airline restrictions. Additionally, we recommend carrying photocopies of your passport and driver's license if you plan to rent a car or drive. Keep the copies with you for identification purposes and store the original documents in a secure location such as your hotel’s safe box. Losing your passport or license, or having them stolen, can negatively impact your entire vacation experience.

How safe is a balloon?
Hot air ballooning is considered as one of the safest forms of flying. It is much safer than flying with a plane.

How high do balloons fly?
During the flight, we often soar low to give you a close-up view of Cappadocia’s stunning rock formations. At times, we ascend to about 2,000 feet, offering you the sensation of gliding like a bird across the breathtaking landscape. On a clear day, you can enjoy a panoramic view stretching up to 80–90 kilometers (roughly 40–50 miles) in every direction.
Why do we fly early in the morning?
Early morning flights take advantage of the cooler temperatures and stable wind conditions, which are ideal for safe takeoff and smooth landings. These early hours also offer the most lift for the balloon. Plus, you’ll witness the stunning beauty of sunrise over Cappadocia — a truly magical experience.
What should I wear and bring?
In summer, we suggest comfortable pants like jeans and flat-soled shoes. For winter flights, make sure to dress warmly. Although landings are usually near roads, you might walk through open fields. The temperature in the balloon is generally the same as on the ground, but having a light jacket or layered clothing is wise as conditions can vary. Don’t forget your fully charged camera — you’ll want to capture the awe-inspiring views of Cappadocia from above.
Where do we go?
The launch site changes daily depending on the wind’s direction and speed. This allows us to fly over the most scenic valleys. Since air currents shift at different altitudes, the pilot uses the burner to adjust altitude and catch favorable wind layers for the most memorable route.
Where do we land?
Each landing spot varies by day, as it depends entirely on the weather and wind patterns. When a suitable location is identified, your pilot will guide the balloon down gently. Our professional ground crew, who follow the flight closely, will be ready to assist you upon landing.
Do you provide insurance?
Yes, all passengers are fully insured for up to 1,000,000 EURO.
Can children join the flight?

Can children join the balloon flight?
Yes, children aged 7 to 12 are welcome to fly, as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Unfortunately, children under the age of 7 are not permitted on the flight for safety reasons.

When are flights cancelled?
Flights will be cancelled in cases of strong winds exceeding 10 mph, or if there’s heavy rain, snowfall, or dense fog. If your flight is cancelled due to weather conditions, you will receive a full refund with no penalty.

Can pregnant passengers fly?
Regrettably, pregnant women are not allowed to participate in our balloon flights. This is a precautionary measure in case of a rough landing, even though such landings are rare.

Will we see the sunrise during the flight?
We typically launch right around sunrise, giving you the chance to experience the magical Golden Hour — ideal for photos. However, take-off times can vary slightly depending on the weather and safety conditions.
